TRIP ITINERARY: South Fork 2-Day "Car Access" Camp Trip

DAY ONE
Meet time: 8:45 am, in Lotus
Hour One: Sign-in, bus ride, instruction
Hour Two-Four: Class III rapids
Hour Five: Riverside lunch
Hour Six: Class II rapids
Hour Seven: Set up camp, shower
Hour Eight: Relax, hors d'oeuvres
Hour Nine: Dinner
Hour Ten-Eleven: Campfire, dessert, revelry!
Hour ?: Fall asleep under the stars

DAY TWO
Hour One: Coffee, lounging
Hour Two: Breakfast
Hour Three: Break camp
Hour Four: Class II warm-up rapids
Hour Five: Riverside lunch
Hour Six-Seven: Class III rapids, "The Gorge"
Hour Eight: Take-out in Folsom Lake, bus ride

Our first day of this trip is spent on the Upper section of the river and our second day is enjoyed on the Lower section. In between the excitement of rafting, you'll enjoy freshly prepared meals in our private riverside camp and have plenty of time to relax on soft green grass beneath the shade of old oak trees. It's the perfect mini-vacation.

DAY ONE
Meet time: 8:45 am, in Lotus
Hour One: Sign-in, bus ride, instruction
Hour Two-Four: Class III rapids
Hour Five: Riverside lunch
Hour Six: Class II rapids,
Hour Seven: Set up camp, shower
Hour Eight: Relax, hors d'oeuvres
Hour Nine: Dinner
Hour Ten-Eleven: Campfire, dessert, revelry!

DAY TWO
Hour One: Quick breakfast, break camp
Hour Two: Drive to Middle Fork American
Hour Three: Bus ride to put-in, board rafts
Hour Four-Five: Class III-IV rapids
Hour Six: Snack, Class II rapids
Hour Seven: Riverside lunch
Hour Eight: Class II rapids
Hour Nine: Chunder Rapid, Portage Ruck-a-Chucky
Hour Ten: Class III-IV rapids
Hour Eleven: Bus ride

The first day you'll play on the South Fork American River, the next you'll challenge yourself on the Middle Fork American. Zipping through the rapids of the Upper "Chili Bar" section of the South Fork, you'll get a long taste of Class III whitewater. At night, you'll relax in our riverside camp along the South Fork of the American River and enjoy a freshly prepared meal. Breakfast the next morning is a healthy quick meal. Then it's off to the Class IV whitewater of the Middle Fork American (driving your own car to the Middle Fork means you can save yourself an hour-long drive back to the South Fork at the end of day two). You'll crash through intense rapids, testing your newfound skills. At your trip's end, you'll feel the exhilaration at having challenged yourself for two days and 25 river miles--and prevailed.
